Does Oppo think this would sell? I feel like FCA has saturated their lineup with SUVs and crossovers already with no investment in electric cars.

America loves giant SUVs, so yes, I think it would sell. They’d need to differentiate the fascias from the RAM truck a la Suburban/Expedition, but I’d see it doing well. Hellcat Ramcharger anyone?

That’s just a Durango with extra big. If they do a new Ramcharger i t HAS to have only two doors.

Yes, I believe it would sell. If you’re a Dodge guy, FCA doesn’t make a Suburban or Expedition sized product for you. This would fill that hole. Also, even if they never sell this commercially, I would imagine this would sell well to law enforcement.
This is what we'll show whenever you publish anything on Kinja:

Can we get the rear glass to curve up to the roofline?
2 door sports lorry option?
Can it say Power Wagon?
Always liked em. If they price em right and keep financing to anyone with a pulse, they'll sell. Especially if they stuff a Cummins under the hood.

They should have started building this roughly 20-25 years ago.
The fact that they have so many crossovers but just blatantly ignored a massive segment is insane to me. You have a truck platform, just put a roof on it guys! Why are you letting Ford/GM steal pretty much the entire full size 3 row segment?!

I’m surprised it’s taken so long. All they really need to do is take a 1500 pickup, add the back part on, and proceed to print $$$ . The majority of the hard work is already done.
When these are finally released, I’d wager they outsell every Fiat and Alfa model in the US, combined. (Note that is only ~30k units per yr. Almost as much as a Nissan Frontier).

Lose the grill.
Also, at least we know what the Grand Wagoneer will sit on

Agreed, and as such, invalid.
GM styling and FCA styling are significantly different in the details, and seeing them together is jarring and disconcerting.
Even back in the past... parallels can be drawn between the 67-69 Camaro, and the 70-74 Challenger, but they are distinctly different cars, and would not look good mashed up.
The second Ramcharger render isn’t as problematic, but the quarter windows don’t need to be jammed up against the rear door shutline like that. Not a very MOPAR way to do it.
Would probably end up being more like a Durango, but a little more formal, less curved and swept... but still having painted steel on both sides of the door shut-lines, and a bit more broadly radiused corners. And not as much blank steel at the D-pillar.

How do we really know, unless they try?
(and I wouldn’t be opposed to it having rear side half doors, as long as they open 180-degrees...)
Or perhaps basing it off the Jeep Gladiator and rumored upcoming Ram Dakota mid-size platform, instead of the giant Ram 1500+ Those mid-size platforms, and the new Ranger included, are as big or bigger than 1500 class trucks were in the 1990s. A new Ranger is nearly the same size as my ‘07 Nissan Titan, parked side by side.
A new generation of pseudo-2-door truck-based SUVs, like the old Tahoe 2-door, the Bronco, Ramcharger, etc... could probably be based on current mid-size, and be a better size, than a gigantic 1500-based monster.
Something a bit sportier than a Gladiator. Something like an SUV Ranger Raptor. Maybe with an optional removeable back half roof, like old Blazers and Broncos... but a little less involved than Gladiator/Wrangler.
I would like to see new truck-grade SUVs be something other than body-on-frame alternatives to unibody CUVs and SUV people-haulers. There are plenty of people haulers to choose from.
Unfortunately Blazer/Trailblazer won’t be that way, they are already going down the CUV route.

I would love a larger version of the Durango. Sure, it seats 7, but it’s tight. A Suburban/Expedition competitor with a HEMI and ZF 8 speed powertrain combo? Sign me up.

FCA is being smart not investing heavily in EVs. The early adopters have no profit margin. Much smarter to wait until EVs make up a significant market share and buy the tech from somebody else.

Something like this is needed and would work with how everyone is hungry for big ass suv’ s and crossovers. I think it’ d work better at Dodge for a Suburban challenger than for Jeep to have a Grand Wagoner .

I suspect the reason they haven’t is the same reason it took so long to get a Wrangler truck, plant capacity. The Ram plants were maxed out before they canned the 200 and set that one up for RWD.
